* Day 14 – Favorite Movies

Post your favorite movies that you never get tired of watching.

movieposterTalladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby – I’m a huge Will Ferrel fan, so this is one movie that I would probably watch every day if I could. I’m not really sure why? I personally hate Nascar, but this movie kinda makes fun of it a little bit and that’s why I enjoy it, I think. Plus, there are SO many one-liners. And a great cast!

Although, I’m okay with watching this any time of the year. Zooey Deschanel plays a blonde in this as well, and she is just adorable and sings a lot in it too! Great voice, she has. I just love when Buddy finally gets to New York and discovers the most basic things for the first time. I just love it.

To me, it’s a classic. And the fact that Leonardo Dicaprio did NOT get an Oscar for this will always leave a hole in my heart. Kate Winslet was amazing too, but Jack (Leo) died, so he shouldv’e gotten it by default.

Friends I’ve told this too, they don’t see it. But I do. Plus, I love the two main characters, so much. The story line was very unique (not anything like Titanic) and it captivated me from the first 5 minutes. The emotions ran so high in this story and I felt so my sympathy for Chris Pratt’s character. Living alone in space for so long. Anyone would have done the same.

MV5BMTQ2MzYwMzk5Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwOTI4NzUyMw@@._V1_UY1200_CR90,0,630,1200_AL_.jpgAnchorman – …Do I need to say why? Okay. I guess I will. Again with the one liners. It’s also a classic to me and will live with me forever. I like the decade that it takes place in as well, and like that a woman takes over in “a man’s world.” Although it was a comedy, it was refreshing and empowering part of the story. To say the least, I was in a glass case of emotion.

1200x630bbAcross the Universe – A musical with remade Beatles songs in the most creative ways. This movie seriously should have won every award out there. I will admit, before I watched this movie, I was not really a fan of the Beatles. But, the way this movie remade the songs, it really made me appreciate the message they were sending for so long. All you need is love. ❤

movieposter (2)Avatar – This is an incredible well done movie. Bravo to James Cameron. The story line, the visuals, the acting, everything. How could people not like this movie? I heard they are doing a remake and I am so pumped to see what it could be about. The ending did leave us on a cliffhanger after Jake was officially turned into an avatar, but what story could be next? I also saw this in theaters twice. Once when it came out, then again when they added an extra like, 12 minutes of bonus content. It was so worth it.

movieposter (1)The Devil Wears Prada – I think we can all agree on this one, right? It appeals to so many people, and don’t even like fashion or chic flicks. But, there’s something about the characters that makes you want to watch it, despite the industry they work for. And I’ve discovered that this was the time period in Anne Hathoways career where she had a contract that producers had to sign that she HAS to do a make over. Like seriously, she is very good at looking frumpy and then DAMN!

Do you agree with my list? If not, why? What are your favorite movies? 🙂  ##

Here goes…

Alright, so I’m going to attempt to write this and hope it doesn’t kill my audience. I think it’s silly that I’m even nervous to admit this, but I want to be truthful. I hope what I’m about to say doesn’t change your opinion of me or my writing. Unless it’s in a better way, then it’s okay. 🙂

People can find inspiration for writing in all kinds of ways. And as I understand it, most writers are avid readers. But what are books other than stories without pictures? What are movies based around; story. What about television shows; story. And even video games, mainly Role Playing Games; heavily based on story (interactively). As a person like myself who is writing a book, you would probably assume that I read quite often in my spare time. But the answer is actually, no. I do not read as much as you think I do.

Reading for me has always been kind of stressful and boring, (puts me to sleep) no matter how good the book is. In school, we always had reading assignments and book reports to do. I dreaded it. It was homework to me, and since I had a certain time to read it in, I stressed out trying to read it in time. Because it was always a chore, homework, something that I HAD to do. Don’t get me wrong, I have read books past my school days and in my free time, but it’s very rarely. And I will also admit, the books are mostly better than the movies or show. But I will always lean more towards the movie. Like I’ve mentioned in earlier blogs, I also get a lot of inspiration from dreams. I think a lot of the dreams I have are stemmed from movies and stuff (the pictures are burned in my mind). And my head makes it’s own twist on things.

I have gotten a lot of…um.. hateful, confused and bitter comments to this. I’m not really sure why. Everyone is not programmed the same way. If I can create something based on something I see and not read, why does it matter how it originated? Maybe I will create something most readers will have never imagined BECAUSE I don’t read as much.

I also want to let my other fellow writers know, that, no; you don’t need to read x-amount of books to be considered a great writer. I know I am not the only writer in the world who feels this way, and hope I’m not the last.

I hope I explained this well enough to make you understand where I stand. I don’t want to lose followers based on this, flaw, of mine. Please, let me know your thoughts on the matter. Cheers! ##
